...and welcome to my homepage! MY HISTORY In 1973 I saw, for the first time, a picture of a Shar Pei puppie. This picture got stucked in my mind and my wish was to own one by myself in the future. In the winter of 1995, the news reached me about Shar Pei's legacy in Sweden. I got an address from the Swedish Kennel Association/Club to the Nesse family. They already had the Shar Pei dog here in Sweden. I contacted them and they told me that I was welcome to visit them and meet Gino - the dog! My dreams since 20 years, became reality at last. To meet this dog was beyond my wildest imaginations! A wonderful dog with a marvellous charisma. I was thrilled! This dog - Gino - was the first Shar Pei that I had met...and there was no return.... I had the luck to get in touch with Mallinwood Kennels in Cambridge - UK. They had an eight weeks old female puppie, who I became the owner of. This dog is my Peja! It can't be described in words what I felt when she arrived at Arlanda Airport and when I saw her sitting terrified in the cage, after the flight. She stole my heart from that moment. She was so beautiful and she was MINE! Later it even showed up that she was not only beautiful - she is also the most loving Shar Pei you can imagine! And thanks to Mallinwood Polly Pocket, which is her real name, I got an excellent start with my breed of Shar Pei. She was the first one - but not the last.... Another female, Debbie, from the China House in Denmark, did also become mine. She arrived to my home in August 1996 and she was also a faithful and loving Shar Pei. My third dog, Alladin, was not planned. I couldn't resist the opportunity to keep this handsome guy! He is Gino's son, breed by Sharness Kennel in Årjäng. I thought he would be an excellent mate for Peja. I kept one male puppie (LilleMan) from that first litter and one male (Herman) from the second litter too - and that's the way it is...and my thoughts bring me back to the resemblance between potato-chips and the Shar Pei dog.... |
